Letter from the President
Greetings from NCCU SHRM!
We are honored to extend a warm welcome to all students on behalf of the NCCU Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (NCCU SHRM). Our goal, as a student-led organization at NC Central University, is to educate our members and fellow students about the broad field of HR and the abundance of opportunities.
We, in the student SHRM Chapter at NCCU, are passionate about helping students develop professional skills while learning new things. We believe that participating regularly in panels, conferences, workshops, and events is necessary to build strong professional networks, which are crucial for success during and after college. To support student access to the tools required to succeed in the HR field, we work diligently to plan and advertise these events.
The chapter partners with HR programming, enhancing students’ educational opportunities while supporting their professional development. Our goal is to help develop a strong sense of community, a firm dedication to professional progress, networking, and leadership abilities through these collaborations.
We are thrilled to be a part of a broader community of HR leaders and professionals as we partner with the local Triangle Society for Human Resource Management (TSHRM), local Raleigh Metro, and the international Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). These professional organizations are great resources as advice, mentorship, and valuable insight into the HR field are provided.
We are excited for this academic year!
Sincerely,
Thandi Nesbit
